7 - QUOTE OF THE SYSTEM-

SYSTEM QUOTE-

NOTE - There are different types of essay writing (ie, argumentative texts): the thesis, the relation of literary topics and / or science, the ' investigation of a topical issue, some types of newspaper articles.
- an argumentative text (of any type) is generally composed of:
- portions of original text, that the writer
- quotations more or less long: (bits of text taken from the works of novelists and poets, excerpts from critical essays, excerpts from newspaper articles and / or magazines; tracks drawn from interviews, opinions, ideas and opinions of others (provided that the transcription is faithful)
- any "equipment" (bibliography, index, photos, appendices, etc.)

- WHY 'IS SUES

- Can be mentioned steps of short stories / novels, famous phrases, proverbs, poetic verses, songs, works of criticism and essays, provided that the quote is not random (for "Stretch the soup" ...), but appropriate, consistent, be connected to the speech.
- The quotation is functional for different purposes, you need to:
- giving strength and effectiveness of our speech;
- include a thought, a thought, an idea opposed to mine, to be able to deconstruct critically;
- if you write an essay about a writer (poet, novelist, etc..), you will often bring pieces of text that author, or the critical discourse will be "abstract" (eg if I have to write about Ungaretti often cite the verses of His poems, if I write up of his songs mention Pirandello novels, plays, novels, but even if I write a news story to take back pieces of interviews, reviews of police, judges and others involved in the case).

- HOW TO CITY?
- if the quotation is short (no more than three lines), the following should be inserted in the text but marked with inverted commas ('') to avoid confusion between the original text and the quoted text!
- If the quotation is long (more than three lines) need to separate it visually from the original text will leave a blank space before and after our text, we will use a smaller type and quotation marks ... nothing!
- For each citation is always a note!
[1]
- In the note, placed at the end of the quotation and after the punctuation mark, will be shown:
- author of the work cited (dotted name, surname in full);
- Title work cited (in italics);
- the place and year in which the work was published;
- and, above all, the page number (the reader must be able to easily trace the source of the quote)

- The Notes can also be used for other purposes:
- in the note I can say other things that I did not say in the text to avoid interrupting continuity of discourse, but which are equally worthy of interest;
- can provide useful information, bibliographic information, the most critical information for the reader;
- I can report that I have added other quotations in the text for not " weigh it down "too, and so on.
[2]

[1] should always put our source! Notes can be found at the bottom of the page, as in this case, or at the end of the document. Word contains both the options.
[2] In the thesis, in many textbooks school and university, scientific or critical essays in all the works cited in the text are then listed in an orderly fashion in the final bibliography.
