5 - THE argumentative texts

argumentative texts

1) It is a rigorous and structured text aimed at demonstrating the validity of some arguments with respect to a given topic.
2) I'm argumentative texts:
- Newspaper article (full / editorial / opinion piece)
- short essay / report
- Thesis
- Review / Report
with value judgments - Speech election
- Panegyric / praise
3) has a subjective character because it expresses the views of the writer (his opinion on a subject / idea / theory / event / book etc.). and to seek to persuade the reader to take that particular point of view.

4) follows a fixed pattern, but not rigid:
- Problem:
a. introduce the facts and possibly
b. made up my sources (if any)
- formulation of the thesis:
a. I expose my point of view on the problem
- Development argumentation:
a. Expose at least three arguments in support of my thesis
b. Each submission must be contained in a sentence / paragraph c.
Using observations, facts, examples, thoughts, statistics can be useful to give strength to my argument
- Rebuttal:
a. Quickly illustrate alternative points of view to my ...
b. .... And then demolish them!
- Conclusion:
a. Briefly summarizes what has been said before "take stock" of the speech.

5) The text argument should be structured in a consistent manner (on a logical-conceptual) and cohesive (in terms of language and style). We recommend the use of certain "ingredients"
- massive use of connectives to give consequential reasoning. Of causal links, Adversity, final, temporal, concessive, etc.. "Here So that, "" why "," nevertheless "," after "," order "," ma "," however, "although", etc..
- Using the first person of the verb (I take responsibility for what I write)
- use of our time (effect of greater relevance and practicality in addressing the problem)
- use of metaphors and similes (for affect attention the reader and make more accessible the argument).
